Palm Sunday showed Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, 5 days before he went to the Cross. It was called Palm Sunday as the people laid palm leaves on the ground or waved them in their hands when Jesus rode by seated on a donkey. It was a jubilant celebration with people shouting “Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Lord.” Many of them were expecting that Jesus would be their earthly king. Jesus is King but not the kind of king that they had in mind at that time. “Behold! The Messiah!” examines the biblical significance of Palm Sunday and what relevance it has for Christians today.
